Dog Treat Recipes for a Barkingly Good Easter Weekend

Dog Treat Recipes for a Barkingly Good Easter Weekend

Easter is a time for renewal, celebration, and enjoying sweet treats—why should our furry friends miss out? As we approach the Easter weekend and four days off we thought we should share with you some of our favourite Easter Dog Treat Recipes.

Put the choccy eggs away (we know how bad they are for dogs) and keep them for the two-legged children, now is the time to reward your best friend for all the emotional support they have given you in the form of cuddles and scratches over the last few months of soaking weather.

Easter bunny Recipes

1. CARROT PEANUT BUTTER PUPCAKES from Shweta in the Kitchen

 Ingredients:

1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup unsweetened peanut butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup shredded carrots
1/3 cup honey
1 egg

Instructions: Mix the ingredients, pour into cupcake molds, and bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes. Let them cool before serving. These pupcakes are a hit with dogs, thanks to their irresistible combination of carrot and peanut butter.

We have a penchant for peanut butter ourselves so we could not resist these lovely cakes. They have so much goodness in the recipe that you could be forgiven for making a healthy treat for your pup.

2.Easter Bunny Crunch Cookies

Any Easter Treat for your dog has to come with something in the shape of a bunny to whet their appetite. Just remember if you have several dogs to make extra to share around or the labrador will have the lot.

Ingredients:

2 cups oat flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 mashed banana
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/4 cup water

Instructions: Combine all ingredients until the dough forms, roll out and cut into bunny shapes. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes or until golden brown. These crunchy treats are perfect for keeping your dog's teeth healthy and should they see a rabbit you know where the encouragement came from.

3.Frozen Yogurt Easter Eggs

Ingredients:

1 cup plain, unsweetened yogurt
1/2 cup mashed blueberries
1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Instructions: Mix the ingredients, pour into silicone Easter egg molds, and freeze until solid. These frozen treats are a refreshing way to help your dog cool down after an Easter egg hunt in the backyard.

Here is a lovely video we found of how to make Frozen Yoghurt Easter Treats for your dog.

From all of us here at Dogs Dogs Dogs HQ, we wish you a very happy easter and hope you, your family and especially your pets stay safe and warm.
